vari-targets if the rebounds from them drop nicely to a flipper or are otherwise safe, UTAD if not.

Full Rules

Not much to do here. Shoot the drop targets up top and try to make the two top corner horseshoe shots for 5000 points when the ball is aligned for it; note you can’t cradle on the upper flippers. The vari-targets give good points, but can drop the ball onto the bumpers, from which it goes who knows where. Avoid the vari-targets if they feed the bumpers. The bumpers are worth 1000, so when the ball comes down either side “double” or “triple” lane, try to get as much bumper action as you can.

Ordinarily, runs are not counted for competition, so I’ve ignored them. If you’re in an event where they do count, make extra effort to score a Home Run with a horseshoe or vari-target shot whenever you have two or more men on base.

This is one of the few games with a center-mounted autoplunger: the ball is ejected from the outhole between the flippers at the beginning of each ball when you flip. Watch out for a bad autoplunge; I’ve seen games where the plunges go up, hit one or two things weakly, then fall back and drain.

Playfield Risk

While the rebounds from successful shots rarely drain directly, any drop target shot will lead to the ball bouncing sideways. Most drains are balls falling down the center, often when it glances off the outside of the vary-target chutes (also caused by weak autoplunges; see below). The other common drain is balls going down the side lanes into either bumper and then into an outlane.
