Jacks to Open

The is a solid state remake of Jacks Open with a slightly different ruleset and score values ten times higher. The strategy is changed.

As on Jacks Open, you start by going for two Jacks, then three Queens, then a Full House of three queens and two kings, then the royal flush of all five hearts. The order of the drop targets differs though: on Jacks Open, it’s A-Q-K-J-Q-K-J-Q-10; here, it’s A-K-K-Q-Q-Q-J-J-10. The five royal flush drop targets are in the same places, but the other four cards have moved.

Here, the top lanes light matching-colored side lanes, return lanes and outlanes, rather than increasing the value of the drop targets. Drops targets are always worth 5K. The lit upper star bumper is worth 10K; the center and unlit star bumper 100 points unlit, 1K lit. The star bumpers are each lit by the outer top lane above them and stay lit for the rest of the game. The skill shot is therefore to get one of those two outer top lanes to light a star bumper.

Unlike Jacks Open, this game has end of ball bonus: 10K per card earned. A royal flush earns double bonus.

On Jacks Open, your strategy is to milk the target banks after you raise the target values rather than completing each “hand” as quickly as possible. Here on Jack To Open, you want to finish hands in the minimum number of shots to get to Royal Flush a.s.a.p. It’s still good to have as many upper lanes as you can to light the lower lanes, but now, putting the ball back up top to do so is no longer a priority.

Earned top lanes and cards are held from ball to ball.
